    Courtenay and District Museum and Paleontology Centre
    The Courtenay Museum features paleontology, First Nations and Pioneer exhibits. Home to the 12 Metre long elasmosaur, an 80 million year old marine reptile found on the banks of the Puntledge River in Courtenay. Other fossils include mosasaurs turtles, sharks, ammonites and other marine fossils from the age of dinosaurs. Summer hours are Monday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm and Sundays, 12pm to 4pm. Winter hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, closed Sunday and Monday. Fossil tours available.
